Nona Together

Nona is for everyone! Thanks to Nona Together, Nona is opening doors for student-athletes with financial hardships and other setbacks. And there’s more! The foundation also promotes amazing community events like the Color Run, IronKids and City Edition. These are great ways to keep connecting with the community and inspiring people to live healthier lives through basketball. Plus, they’re a fantastic way to embrace Nona’s colors and pride!

Nona Together was born as a club of Lake Nona High School; it is an incredible initiative of Ana Paula Delgado. It uses the community hours programme to make the most of the school’s partnership with basketball as a tool for social development and positive change in the communities of Lake Nona. The programme is based on the fantastic belief that sport, and in particular basketball, can help improve people’s lives by addressing social challenges such as education, health, inclusion, gender equality and overall well-being.

Nona Together is all about making a difference! Here are some of our main objectives:

Promote education and personal development! Nona Basketball is on a mission to bring life-changing programs to low-income areas, where they’ll teach invaluable life skills, discipline, and teamwork through the power of basketball!
Promote inclusion and gender equality: We’re on a mission to make sure that every boy and girl has an equal chance to shine on the court! We’re fighting against gender discrimination and promoting equal opportunities in sports.
Promoting health and well-being: Sport can play a role in fostering healthy habits and raising awareness about important issues such as nutrition, physical activity, and disease prevention.
Supporting disadvantaged communities: Nona Basketball works with local organisations to bring basketball to communities facing economic or social challenges by providing resources and sports facilities.

Nona Basketball Academy is built on one premise: «We inspire and build a healthier world through basketball. » As an academy, our goal is to empower student-athletes to be courageous and make their own decisions. Nona Basketball Academy was established in 2020 in the rapidly developing new area of Orlando called Lake Nona. The club was founded with one clear goal: to instill a genuine passion for basketball within an enjoyable and structured environment that emphasizes player development. We are committed to providing children of all ages with access to dedicated, high-quality training. However, as the club became a staple in this emerging community, it became clear that we had a social responsibility to the young athletes living in the area. Basketball is a unique sport with the power to shape character. It offers invaluable experiences that teach valuable lessons, such as the dynamics of winning and losing, dealing with praise and criticism, balancing individual and team contributions, and dealing with frustration and happiness. Today, Nona is fully committed to leveraging basketball as a means to develop well-rounded individuals who can have a positive impact on our society.

The club’s philosophy is clear: we create an environment where all members—from student-athletes and coaches to staff and parents—grow together, united by their shared love of the sport and their desire to achieve the best version of themselves. Our goal is, and always has been, to foster a positive and constructive atmosphere that benefits everyone involved. After all, basketball «We inspire and build a healthier world through basketball”.

NONA is thrilled to announce its partnership with 12,400 basketball players in Orlando for the 2028 season! We’re kicking off this project with a bang! Our mission statement from the strategic base is to make Orlando the number one city in basketball practice in Florida. We’re going to take it to the next level and project to the U.S. to increase the number of Americans and Latinos who practice the sport in a healthier way. We’re also going to deepen the positive impact on communities at the national level. We’re starting early to make sports literacy a civic culture.
